Hymn - Be Still My Soul to Hear the Call

Be still my soul to hear the call that's coming. Bear patiently the grief and pain of life. Cling to the hope that love has won the battle, that evil will not triumph o'er the strife. Be still my soul the shadows now grow longer, cling to the hope that death will bring new life.

Be still my soul to hear the call that's coming. Bear patiently the grief and pain of life. Cling to the hope that love has won the battle, that evil will not triumph o'er the strife. Be still my soul the shadows now grow longer, cling to the hope that death will bring new life. Open your heart and listen in the silence, wait quietly to hear the word of God. The one who spoke to Moses and by prophets is sure to know the way that we must go. Be still my soul and summon up the courage, to love the truth that's greater than we know. Our lives are like the flowers in the meadow, so fair and lovely and so quickly gone. But in the souls of all those we have known our love like seeds has taken root and grown. Be still my soul and do not fear the cold wind, for it will bring a new outburst of spring.

Call for forgiveness of the foreign debt owed by poor countries without safety nets. Now is the time to have God's Jubilee. Forgive! Set them free! Come, follow Christ. Care for the hungry, educate the poor, shelter the homeless, help the unemployed. Write to our leaders and demand what's just. In God we will trust!

Help us understand it all, why your judgment and your call? What you want us all to do? What it means to follow you? God of life and love and death, God who gives and takes our breath, do you suffer as we do? Will you see our story through? Help us understand it all, so we will accept your call. Look for the way on earth right now, and you will find the God of power. Look in the face of every stranger, to see the God of wondrous grace. Open your heart to those who hurt you, if you would find God's hiding place. Embrace your fear and every pain. Then let them go, be born again. And when you fear that death is coming, then you will know that God is near. Cling to your faith and care for others, let your heart fill with memories dear. For when the darkness ends the day, a ray of light will show the way.

Hymn - O God of Love, I Long for You

O God of love, I long for you. Come, let me know your word is true. Where are you now, when I'm alone? Are you too good for flesh and bone? Or did you walk with us on earth? How could you bear a woman's birth? Were you a Jew, a man, alive? Why would you enter life to die?

People of dust, who live and die, far from God's heavenly paradise. Why should I hope that you might care? Why should I put my trust in prayer? Children are crying, can't you hear? How can you bear to see their tears? If you are God, you must be here, among all those who live in fear. If you are love, you have to know what it is like to fall so low. Help me to find you everywhere that children cry and people care. Be with me now, so I may be a faithful witness to your peace.

The God of Abraham is known throughout the world. The Torah and the Prophets tell us of God's word that calls us all to live with faith and righteousness, for God wants us to rule the earth with justice. Two thousand years ago a Jew in Palestine was killed upon a cross for teaching of God's reign. In Jesus many see God's word in flesh and blood, and so they follow hiim to find their way to God. But others find God's word revealed in the Qur'an that calls all people to proclaim our God is one. The God of Abraham, who Moses heard on high, spoke to the son of Mary, and made him Christ. Sing praises to our God, the God of Abraham, the God revealed to Jews and Christians and Muslims, the LORD, the great I Am, the Father, and Allah, Creator of our every breath, the God of love.</itunes:summary>

They stir up fear among us, then say to follow them. But striking first will not be just. This war will be a sin. O free us from temptation. O help us now to see, that fear is our real enemy, not those across the sea. O give us strength and wisdom to do now what we must. Help us to worship only you, O God, whose love is just.

May we cry out for justice and for freedom, may we be bold in hope and love and faith. In our earth home, our place in time and space, may we now find a way to live in peace. This is my prayer, O Spirit of forgiveness, that we will find your mercy in our hearts. When we despair, and fear the coming darkness, help us to see that we can do our part. said the sheep with curly horns. "I," said the cow, all white and red. "I gave him my manger for his bed. I gave him my hay to pillow
his head. I," said the cow all white and red. "I," said the dove in the rafters high. "I cooed him to sleep so he would not cry. We
cooed him to sleep, my mate and I. I," said the dove in the rafters high. "I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown. "I carried his mother
uphill and down. I carried his mother to Bethlehem town. I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown. So, all the beasts by some good
spell, in the stable dark were gald to tell of the gifts they gave Emmanuel, the gifts they gave Emmanuel.

man listened as he spoke, for wisdom he was bringing. He brought joy to all the earth; and light into our dark night. He lives on in
acts of love, inspiring us to do what's right. So we sing of Mary's son, who reveals God's love for us. May we all give thanks to God,

Once in the moon of wintertime, when all the birds had fled. The mighty Gitchi Manitou sent angel choirs instead. Before their light
the stars grew dim, and wandering hunters heard their hymn; "Jesus your king is born; Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria." Within a
lodge of broken bark the tender infant lay wrapped in a robe of rabbit skin, upon a bed of hay. And as the hunters brave drew near,
the angel song rang loud and clear: "Jesus your king is born; Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria." The early moon of wintertime is not
as bright and fair, as was the light that hovered o'er the helpless infant there. Chiefs from afar before him knelt with gifts of fox and
beaver pelt. "Jesus your king is born; Jesus is born, in excelsis gloria." O daughters of the wind and pines, O sons of Manitou, the
holy child of earth and sky is born today for you. Come, look upon the radiant face that brings us love and peace and grace. "Jesus

A child is born in Bethlehem, Emmanuel, a gift of God. For him we give thanks and we pray, "May justice reign throughout the

for peace on earth. When shepherds heard the angels' song, they left their sheep and came to where the child was safe in Mary's
arms, as Joseph stood guard watching her. And then three kings came from the East with gifts to honor the new king. With gold
and myrrh and frankincense. What gifts for jesus mightw e bring? The angels sang their humn of praise, as Joseph watched and
Mary cried. For she knew she would live to see, the dark hour when her son would die.
O star of wonder, shine once more, drive back the night and help us know that God brings new life out of death. As from the earth,
the flowers grow.

Light a candle, sing with joy, share a story, start a fire. Say a prayer for those in need, enjoy the morning dawn and in the evening,

In the dark of winter, when the sun is low. Frost appears upon the ground, skies release their snow. Cold wind makes us shiver, as
we come and go. In the dark of winter, when the sun is low. Has death won a victory? Will the earth revive? Will the love we know
and share, keep our hopes alive? In the dark and hardened ground: Will seeds grow once more? In our dark and burdened hearts:
Will our faith survive? Then we tell of Jesus, born in Bethlehem. In a lowly stable, outside a full inn. As his mother, Mary, nursed him
in the night, angels sang their carols, and a star burned bright. Shepherds came to see him, kings came bearing gifts. In the dark of
winter, time began to shift. When the morning sun arose, birds began to sing. So on Christmas morning, we remember him. In the
dark of winter, when we're feeling low. Then we share with those we love, gifts that tell them so. And we sing of Jesus, who was
crucified, so we all might live in peace, and keep hope alive.

Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and with fear and trembling stand; ponder nothing earthly minded, for with blessings in his hand,
Christ, the Son of man, came to the earth to reign, our full homage to demand. King of kings, yet born of Mary, Jesus was the Son
of God, Lord of lords, and light in our darkness, in his body and his blood. And he gave to all the faithful, his own self for heavenly
food. Angels filled the heavens with singing, wise men bearing gifts came to see. Shepherds in the fields saw the glory, of God's
gift for you and for me. He will bring to all the nations on the earth, justice and God's kingdom of peace. Listen for the angel voices,
and then join their heavenly song. Open up your heart and have courage, forgive those who have done you wrong. Let the love of
God, revealed in Jesus Christ, fill you with the Spirit of life.
