Ecology

Ecology concerns the life of the earth. It poses ethical issues of paramount importance. The human species depends on the earth for life, and yet we are rapidly degrading the capacity of the earth to support our lives.

Creating an Earth Community

Advocacy for ecology may benefit from considering how human rights advocacy has been so successful.  Perhaps the vision of an "earth community" may serve as the core concept for ecology in the way that our sense of "human dignity" has for human rights.

An Earth Charter

A brief statement of the principles supporting an ecological world view and a list of the documents in international law that contribute to these principles.

Doing Environmental Ethics (second edition, 2012)
